Renewing Joy in the Lord

I told you, when I began this blog, that I was seeking and writing down the joys in each day. This was my way of fighting the depression and cynicism that I felt creeping into my life. (I also had quite a few Godly women praying for me, because I felt like my life was spinning out of control.) Spending time in the Word, alone with the Lord, and on my knees are the only actions that I have ever found that bring me peace. True, calming, quiet peace...the peace that passes all understanding.

In starting this blog, I felt that I would be held accountable for seeking and finding joy in each day. That has proven to be true in more ways than I could have imagined six months ago! The more I seek joy, the more often I find it in God's presence. The more I seek God's presence, the more joy I find in every day...even the hardest days!

I am finding much knowledge, encouragement, and joy in several blogs that I now subscribe to in Google Reader. Please see my blog list and make a point to stop by these blogs for encouragement and a glimpse into the lives of women who are truly seeking God in their lives.

My friend Beverly, over at Bev's Thoughts, has begun to post her notes from the Wednesday Night Ladies Class that she is teaching. I highly recommend a visit to her site. She is truly a gifted (as in her gifts from God) teacher and encourager!

My friend Liz, over at One Woman's Thoughts, has thoughts about everyday life, and how good God is to us. She has been posting quotes from the book The Shack on Facebook, that are totally awesome.

Of course, I love Life's Adventures, by Patti (I do not know her personally, but admire her for believing in God and relying on him). If you go back and read her blog (there is a button on her blog about her beginnings) about her journey through divorce and cancer, you will come to a true understanding of what relying on the Lord for everything is all about. WOW!!

The amount of friends that I have on Facebook, who are posting quotes, scriptures, and excerpts from their studies, are phenomenal. I thank God each day for friends and family that are not afraid to declare whom they believe and to whom they belong. Thank you ladies, for inspiring me to find more joy in each and every day!
